Community Health Aide - Atria Great Neck

Responsibilities
The Community Health Aide is a paraprofessional employee, trained to provide personal care and related services in the community. This individual functions under the direction of a nurse supervisor.
Provide direct and indirect care elements to residents in a community under the direction of a nurse supervisor. May have to provide direct and indirect care elements to numerous residents per shift.
Demonstrate appropriate and safe techniques in personal hygiene.
Adhere to assessment/task sheets for community health aide.
Observe, report and document resident status according to Atria standards.
Maintain a clean safe environment.
Assure adequate nutrition and fluid intake.
Safely transfer and ambulate resident.
Help maintain the resident's physical and mental well-being.
Attend in-services as required.
Maintain CEU requirements in compliance with New York State law. Maintain home health certification.
Attend and complete various Atria-required trainings designed for community employees.
May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
Qualifications
Completion of the 9th grade, prefer high school.
Able to read and write consistent with job.
Successful completion of a New York State approved home health aide training program (i.e. home health aide certification).
Has a reliable means of transportation.
Meet health requirements.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
